To reflect on beauty and comfort by Mariah Ruibal.
Idon't believe we can feel beautiful if something is hurting or squeezing us.
Many women are used to the phrase: "Suffer to look prety," or "The pain of beauty." I'm sorry, but I can't normalize that.
I don't want to suffer to feel beautiful, quite the opposite. My glow, the one that comes from within, fades away if I wear uncomfortable clothes, shoes that hurt, or a hairstyle that pulls so tight it gives me a headache.
You can't have a sparkle in your eyes when you're feeling pain or discomfort.
Writing about Blue Bird made me reflect on this point because it combines personality, quality, beauty, and manages to maintain comfort.
I hadn't been into high heels for a while, but I confess I didn't know how to add "imposing" to my look and bring posture without them.
And it was with Blue Bird that I learned how to express sophistication, comfort, and personality.
Today, ninety percent of my shoes have no heels, and I used to find it strange to present a TV program without wearing them, partly because of the posture that heels provide. However, I discovered that it's not just the heels that convey that. In fact, it's not the footwear that will give you all that power, but rather your confidence to wear it and feel self-assured to convey what you desire.
I feel elegant, comfortable, and full of personality. I see that my perception is not limited to how I feel when every time I wear Blue Bird, someone compliments me, precisely because it caught atention in some of these aspects.
